We managed to get out rental vehicle this morning and made our way out of Sydney towards Katoomba along the great western highway. We stopped to get some groceries along the way and had lunch at Wentworth Falls in the National Park. The park is spectacular right on the edge of a steep cliff overlooking a densely vegetated valley. We did a three hour hike across the top of the falls and down into the valley. The trail then snaked its way along the cliff edge for a few kilometres before passing another waterfall and steeply coming back out of the valley. We took many pictures along the way. After the hike we checked into our accommodation for the evening. It is a little guest house in Katoomba with 7 rooms and really nice. This evening we went for a walk around Echo Point which is another location along the cliffs with more waterfalls. We had supper tonight at a restaurant that served wood fired pizza. I had kangaroo and jalapeños on mine and it was very good. We sampled more of the local beers as well but we still don't have a favourite. Caving tomorrow.
