hello to all! well, after a long, long delay i finally made it in one piece; I'm in India!!!
What was the problem?
Well, first of all the flight from amsterdam to frankfurt was delayed, so i missed the connecting flight to Bahrein.. I arrived at the check in half an hour before the plane was going to take off. A friendly asshole at the counter told me that i was fifteen minutes late, and just said : please come back tomorrow... Nice! Fortunately the delay wasn't my mistake, so they payed for a night with 3 meals in frankfurt. After all this wasn't too bad, since i hade a nice walk through the city and a good night of sleep. Another stopover was made at Bahrein, a tiny kingdom in the gulf area. On the airmap, displayed on the little airplane tv screens, you could se that we almost flew over iraq, and also some other nice places like iran, beirut etc. looked pretty close to our flying route...After waiting for another 8 long hours on the airport i finally left for delhi, where i arrived this morning.
Ok,now let me tell you this to those who have never been here: Delhi is freakin' crazy!! I've seen some stuff in central america, but this is a whole different ballgame! I don't even know where to begin, and since i'm tired and hungry i don't think i'll start descibing it now, but i'll get back to you on this one for sure.
No worries: Besides feeling hungry and tired i do have a positive feeling about it.
Ok, i got screwed over for transport and accomodation costs, (and that hurts since i'm already in the ' tight ass backpacker mode') but well, that's all in the game, it's only approx 10 euro, so i' think i'll survive this loss.
Right now i'll try to see where i can get some serious food poisoning, and after that i'll go back to the hotel and sleep for a day or so :)
all the best, cheers, vincent

You made it!!!
What can i say... You made it! May be for you there is nothing amazing, but for a man who is sitting at his office right now with his day-by-day problems, it's realy cool! Good luck, pal!

India rocks, ey?
Hey Vince!!!
Haha, so they got you already?? It's not so much your wallet they hurt, but it IS your pride, right? As an experienced traveller you don't expect them to nail you so quickly, but let me tell you: travelling India is a whole different ballgame. Be a sport and know it is not a lot of money for you, it is large wealth for them!
One more tip: clean your nose at night. You have no idea how much dirt you inhale in Delhi!!
Take care..

Hey Vince,

Good Luck
namaste !!!!
I'v got your link from Adelia, she used to work with us a while ago.
Good Luck buddy in India. I was around in 1983 and 84 and went back the year before in November.
We were in Rajastan and spent a month around Thaar desert in Jaisalmer and Bikaner.
