In the last two weeks we have...made blueberry pancakes, taken in a Braunschweig Lions football (soccer) game, visited Ikea AGAIN, bought bikes, enjoyed Braunschweig's 10th annual KulturNacht (culture night with various food stands and free music concerts all over the city), tasted poffertjes twice,  Skyped with our 3 amazing sons, taken the trolley, the train and the bus, savored a good glass of wine, cleaned the apartment, read German appliance manuals until we were cross-eyed, attempted to make seafood paella, strolled along the Oker River, watched The Gilmore Girls on our computer, feasted on delicious pasta, taken a long bike ride, watched two of Pastor Kevin's messages online and visited many markets.

I (Monica) would say that we are feeling more settled now.  I no longer have that "out of body" feeling like I did at the beginning of September.  Vince feels like he has definite direction at Welger and is energized to make some good things happen there.  We are enjoying the rhythm of our days, though they seem very different from the rhythm we had in Pella.  We get frustrated, laugh often, and pray without ceasing.  We look forward to what else God has for us in this adventure.  The ride has already been incredible!

This is a great blog... Love the photos (my favorites are the Segway and market shots). What an adventure. It seems like I should join in somehow: )

So great to see and hear from you! Can't wait for more. If you were feeling out of body, I can't imagine me...

Mom and Dad just read the blog. Dad is happy you do not seem homesick.
They loved seeing the pictures of where Vince is working. It is not like they pictured in their mind. They thought it would look more like a factory.
They also like the market pictures. They love you and can't wait to hear more.
