Today we packed up all of our things lamenting our need to leave (this is the most costly part of our trip, heck we could have been in Indo for a month with this kind of money). Anyways, we set off to the jetty to catch the only way off the island- the Cat Rose which only takes you to Praslin (only 15 minute ride). This ended up costing us $30 per person, FOR A 15 MINUTE RIDE!

Once we got to Praslin we decided to just spend the day there and catch the last boat to Mahe. We were fed up with paying ridiculous prices and did not want to pay a fortune for a hotel here.

So we got on the public bus and set out to Anse Lazio- the most talked about beach on Praslin. The ride was gorgeous- it seemed like every beach was stunning and had no one on it! So we got off the bus at the end of the route and started our hike down to Anse Lazio, which I have to say is absolute beautiful. It is wide and calm to swim in and had rocks all along it which really added to its charm.

We swan and read, and Travis snorkeled a bit, then of course I started to get hungry. So we started to look around at our options, we asked for menus here and there and found that they cheapest thing we could get was $20 burgers. ARE YOU SERIOUS!?! I can't stand this high-end tourism!

Of course, Travis and I refused to pay that kind of money for what could possibly be a very gross burger so we figured out the bus schedule and started our walk back to the bus stop hoping to get cheaper take-out there.

When we got to the bus stop we got some yummy curry and waited for the bus to take us back to the jetty and take the boat to Mahe. We were ready to go back to Auntie’s house.

Once we got to the jetty we found out that the Cat Coco (the boat to Mahe, 1 hour ride) costs $60 per person! That’s a total of about $100 per person to get to from La Digue to Mahe, which cost us $12 each on the way there (on the local boat). We are pretty pissed at this point!

We ended the day with a walk home from the dock since we refused to pay for a taxi home…we are pretty sick of getting ripped off! At least we got home to Auntie…who can always make us laugh as she curses certain members of the Seychellois government!
