Today we got up early got breakfast and chatted with the other couple staying in the other room. We decided to go along with them to Mawan Beach (one of the best they had seen so far). We got our motorbike from the owner and set off.

We had a gorgeous ride to the beach west of Kuta (unfortunately the roads were not a good so we drove very slowly). It's crazy because as we are driving we see so many beautiful things every two seconds that we take it for granted already. I swear every picture is calendar or national geographic worthy. Even the common sites like chickens, water buffalos, and horse carriages we forget to take pictures of because it has become so natural to us. This is also soooo different than Kuta, Bali (which is super famous, but honestly a complete waste of time with thousands of tourists, hawkers and dirty beaches).

We had a wonderful day at Mawan Beach (Travis says this could be one of the most beautiful beaches he has ever seen) and then drove to a café on top of a hill that had the most amazing view. The lonely planet book did not lie about this one! We had extremely good all-vegetarian food and even a delicious dark chocolate cake (we are definitely coming back!). It’s cool because they have a hang out area where you can sit for hours and read a book or play games. We had a great time there with our friends Pablo and Sophie.

On the way back we were caught in a storm and got back to our place soaked from head to toe.

Later we went out for water and drove past some locals playing volleyball and Travis could not help not joining in. He played around with them for about 10 minutes and then they told him to come back tomorrow evening because they will then have a net (sadly later we remembered we will be gone fishing when they play).

That night we had barbequed fish (freshly caught that day by the owner, Made). The meal probably cost us $6 but was something that would have cost us $50+ in the US. We hung out with the Brits and chatted until midnight which is rare for us because we have been going to sleep around 9 every night. We are very excited because tomorrow we get to go out fishing with the owner and got a good price since we split it with the other couple.
