After such a wonderful evening last night and staying up VERY late, which is rare for me, it was hard to get going in the morning.  But, Johnny and I got scratching around and prepared to leave for 1:00 services at the Pallas Hotell at 12 noon.

I cannot find the one only tie I brought for the trip.  Must have left it at the Spenser's last Sabbath.  So, Johnny offered one of his.  He had four, all variations of yellow, not my color.  Finally, I chose one to go with my blue shirt. It'a a warm day in the upper 70's....really warm for this part of the world and decided not to wear any jackets.  I wanted to walk the almost one mile distance while Johnny who had equipment to take, took the taxi.

In addition to the people who came to the hotel conference room, we were also pleased to see that Helgi Luts came.  She has been going through chemo therapy and it's been a hard go for her.  But, she came.  Online we also had Imbi Kuuskalu join us from Dublin, Ireland and David Teague from New York State.

I gave the sermon about the Book of Ruth.  We're one month past Pentecost and I thought it would be beneficial for us to hear about the story of Ruth that is read on Pentecost services in Jewish Temple Services.

Johnny started services off and then I gave the sermon.

We were SO PLEASED that Helgi Luts came to services!

After services Helgi, Toomas, Johnny and I went back to the apartment where we dug into leftovers from last night.  Helgi left and and then Toomas took off for the bus station for his 6:50 PM transport back to Tallinn. We spent a relaxing afternoon at the aparment.

At 9 PM I tuned into the webcast of the Lafayette Church (that I pastor back in the USA).  It was so good to hear the voices of the people back home.  Chris Rowland gave an excellent sermonette about the marriage analogy and our Christian life.  He always gives excellent points that you can apply.  Then Mike Grovak gave the sermon about lessons from Hezekiah and character lessons that come from trials.

At 10:30 PM Johnny suggested we go into town and get something to eat.  It doesn't seem like 10:30.  It's very bright. The town of Tartu is all shut down.  Nothing is open. It's the equivalent of Xmas eve....with the St. John's festival and the town is deserted.  Never saw Tartu this way.  We checked several places and finally stopped at McDonald's.  We got home at 12:30 am.  Tomorrow we work on databases, print mailing labels and get a mailing together.

So went the day....

Tartu
WOW! We can hardly wait.
I see Helga's picture, see her smile, and receive her hugs! What a JOY!
Three months, Helga, and I'll get another hug.
It will be hard to wait.
The pictures of Tartu, which we have seen 3 times so far, fill us with joy! We enjoy your beautiful country so much.
Have a great week - we'll see you soon.
Love, Gail and Karen.
By the way, my maiden name is Andrus (short vowel 'u') - pronounced differently - have to talk to Andrus (Andruus) there - that is amazing - same name, pronounced differently!
We so look forward to coming to our FAVORITE Feast site and seeing you all again.
Our love, Gail and Karen

Thanks for taking care of the Bruce
Hi,
Went to have services in Duluth with the Bruce and Phyl yesterday and spent the 3 hours on the road talking abut his trip. He didn't even take his customary snooze on the way home as there was just too much to discuss. WHAT A TRIP YOU HAD!
Your log kept us well inside the loop and the photographs are superb!
Thanks for sending BRA home in good shape.

Do you remember...
Ralph Mayer--do you remember a Steve Miller (and family) that you met camping at the Feast many years ago? It would have been--oh, the early '80s, I think? I'm Steve's daughter, Katherine!

Hello
It is so good to see everyone there again! Glad you could hear our services, too. It's nice to know you're listening in even when you're not there.
