Everyone who will be at our Summer Gathering has now arrived. Today's schedule is to have meetings in the morning and evening with time for recreation in the afternoon.
Jim Franks spoke about the development of the 20 Fundamental Beliefs in the United Church of God.
In the afternoon Bev and I drove with the Spenser's and others to Mora about one hour away. There we looked over a possible venue for the 2009 Feast of Tabernacles. The place that was selected was indeed attractive. It was a recreational park that had both hotel rooms and self-catering facilities.  Certainly everything was adequate and more so.  The big question we're still faced with is where to hold the 2009 Festival where more of the brethren of modest means can come. Where we have held the Feast in Estonia for seven times since 1997 still has advantages, but we're still thinking what's best to do.  We know that some would like the Feast in Sweden, but we have to consider what will serve the needs of the brethren, particularly the people in the Baltic Republics and their ability to get to the Feast.  Sweden would be out of range for them. The US dollar has taken a terrible hit.  Things seem VERY EXPENSIVE.  But, the location in this scenic lake region called Dolarna is certainly attractive.
Before the evening meeting we had a barbecue on the hill.  We have appreciated the all the people pitching in to help.  Andy Lee, Ben Haworth and John WŽnnstrom kept the bbq grills going.  Jesmina, Elisabeth, Bev, Ingrid were preparing the food.
In the evening we had a message by Johnnie Lambert about How to be a Christian living in isolation such as many of the people attending.  Then Britton Taylor spoke about how to control anger.
