A smooth and almost on time journey was in store for us on the overnight train from Belgrade to Bar. We shared a compartment with 3 other people and there wasnt much snoring or any other dusturbances! Some of the scenery as we passed through Montengro was amazing with sheer drops to the side and lush, green forests.
After we arrived we jumped on a bus to our next stop, the holiday resort of Budva. We decided to stay in a hostel again this time as it was the cheapest option and the campsite was closed. The day we arrived the wether was really miserable so we just explored the old walled town in the day and sampled some of the nightlife that evening. The next day we spent a nice day on the beach and in the evening we joined in with some of the other hostels guests and made our own delicious pizzas!
After 2 nights we left on the bus for the nearby town of Kotor which is another walled town on the banks of a huge fjord. When we arrived we really struggled to find a hotel with all the cheap ones being full but eventually a local woman with her little girl said that she had a room that we could stay in her flat. We went to have a look and it was actually the womans bedroom! It was cheap though at 30 euros a night we decided to accept although she said we werent allowed to come drunk and too late. As if!
We had a steep walk up to a nice fort high above the old town and a nice meal in an Italian that night before heading to the bus station the next day for the bus into Croatia.
