Ok...that was possibly the most difficult day of the trip! Very emotional to say goodbye. It turns out that I've been bitten by the fear bug as well at the last minute. Nasty little pest! But I know better than to back down now. I would be ashamed of myself for discarding dreams/goals/fantasies of travel because "I'm scared". And in honor of the big black tattoo scripted on my nephew Lonny's chest "Fear is Paralyzing"...I will continue to move forward. I can't say how much I appreciate everyone's encouragement and I will take you all with me in my heart as I travel.

I know that you don't know me but I am a friend of jason riney and he posted that you were traveling. Anyway, in 1989 I spent 3 months in Limbe,Haiti to do volunteer work. I was fine getting to Miami from AZ but when I had to get on the flight to Haiti....I freaked out! I totally understand getting bit by that pesky "fear bug". Enjoy and embrace your journey!
