We deserted the farm and headed for Barrytown.
Before that though we went on a walk called the foulwind walk, there was nothing foul about the wind, infact the views were lovely and it was pretty cool! We also stopped off to see some rock caverns that the sea crashes through and the pancake rocks which are a bizarre but wicked formation!
Well the principal of the stray bus is that they go to out of the way places, and Barry town our next stop is the perfect example of this. One road, 6 houses, no shop, one pub which is also a hostel.
It did however have some interesting scenery, mainly the hottest bloke i've seen in new zealand! He lieved in a converted bus and was well beautiful! My oh my, i was quite happy to spend my evening chatting to him, he even had a word with my mum, however the principal of this place is to dress up like a fool and drink yourself stupid.
We obliged. The Roxanne drinking game became particularly lethal, i had never realized how stupidly repetitive that song was until a pint of beer was gone with the 3 minutes of the song. Dressing up was well interesting, the lads had to dress up as women and the women as men dressing up as women - don't ask!
I think my bus driver chose this theme because he is secretly a tranny. He enjoyed his costume way to much in fact all the boys did.
Despite the smallness of the town the locals were lovely, so friendly and chatty and the drink was cheap, there was an immense sunset that produced this green flash as it hit the ocean! Pretty cool, i dread to think about the amount of beer that got drunk but it was all good. I had to get up the enxt morning as i'd booked with some others to go and do bone carving, it was really cool, you have to trace out, cut out, sand, grind and polish a bit of bone, the result was surprisingly good and i now have a cool necklace from it! After 3 hours of a bad hangover and hard work we hit the road and the drive began!
