Where I stayed

We left the hostel this morning at around 7.45am and walked down to the ferry terminal.
It was a very easy process here. When you go through customs there are two people there to stamp your passport, one from Argentina to stamp you out and another from Uruguay to stamp you in. This makes things a lot easier for when you arrive in Uruguay!

We boarded the ferry at 8.50am and took a look around. It is very spacious and comfortable and was probably also less than half full! We set off on time at 9.30am for our 3 hour journey. (You can do the journey in about an hour but its about 4 times the cost!).

Not long after setting off some Latin American dude started up the on board singing and musical entertainment that continued for the full journey. He was pretty good to be fair.

The journey itself was really smooth and I even nodded off at one point - can't be bad.

We arrived into Colonia de Sacramento at 12.30 and went to grab a bus to Montevideo. We hadn't prebooked a bus as it was cheaper just to grab one when you get here, and easy.
It was a 2 and a half hour journey to the Terminal Tres Cruces bus station in Montevideo.

Upon arrival, we immediately found the street we were staying on (Av. 18 de Julio) and thought we would be at the hostel in 5 minutes - incorrect!! We were stopping at number 1103 and the first number we came to was 2250!! Half an our later, we finally got to our hostel - The Aramaya.

The hostel then told us we weren't booked in! I showed them the confirmation from hostelbookers and they apologised for the error. There were no rooms that we requested left, so we got a free upgrade to a top floor, quadruple room, with balcony, ensuite and cable TV! Nice.
We just relaxed for a couple of hours from our journeys.

As it was now about 7.30pm, we decided to go out and get some food. We went to a restaurant called Don Pepperone - the service was pants!! We got our meat at 9.25pm!! One of the waitresses came over at about 9pm and apologised for the delay (I actually think they had forgot the order), but then she amazed us! She said our dinner will just be another 10-15 minutes and would we like a pizza for free whilst we waited!!! What?! Firstly, surely that will take 10-15 minutes to do anyway and secondly, why would we want a full pizza just before having a giant steak?!! Freak!

Anyway, when our food finally came we were almost past hungry, although Lorna still managed to order a white wine by asking for a 'Copa del Baņo' - which means 'Glass of Toilet'!! I really just don't know what to do with her sometimes!

Must admit, not feeling to good tonight - I think the sh*ts are back!!
