Kaixo Hostel Central

Had a good nights sleep last night, to say we were on a bus. Woke up about 9am and they put another film on - Quantum of Solace! Just can't get away from this film. Saw it first in a cinema in Australia, then on a bus in Chile and now on a bus in Argentina!

We arrived into Buenos Aires at around 12 noon. This was an hour later than expected, but it didn't matter too much as the journey was so comfortable.
We grabbed a taxi to our hostel - Kaixo Hostel Central - which was just round the corner from the Obelisco. It's quite a nice hostel with a similar feel to La Casa Roja in Santiago - tall ceilings, old wooden floors and little courtyards.

We checked out the local supermarket and grabbed some grub for tonight. We then went for a walk round the nearby central district. We went to the Plaza de Mayo where the Casa Rosada is. This is where the famous Evita balcony is. We obviously both broke out into our own untuneful versions of Don't Cry For Me Argentina! I think we scared the pigeons away, and made most of Argentina actually cry!

We walked through Parque San Martin and then down the famous shopping street of Avenue Florida. It was hard keeping Lorna under control! The street is huge...well over a mile long.

We ended our walk by circling the Obelisco and wandering back to the hostel.

It was basically dinner & bed tonight as we will go out and sort more stuff tomorrow.
