We decided to stay a 2nd night in Townsville so there was no driving today. Mind you, there was no movement from Lorna until after 11 anyway!

Not much to say today. We drove down to the beachfront and had lunch by our van, overlooking the ocean. Then, mid-afternoon, we had our first rainstorm. It only lasted about an hour before it was hot & sunny again, but it came down by the bucketload. What it did do though was cool the air down for an hour which was greatly appreciated.

After the rain stopped we had another walk into town. We have decided to do a bit of planning for our 3 weeks on the south coast. It will be peak time in January so we need to have an idea what we are doing. As we only have three weeks, we are going to fly from Sydney to Adelaide on the 6th of Jan and then use Greyhound to work our way back to Sydney, to fly to Chile. The flights to Adelaide only cost 40 each!
We know we have to be in Melbourne on the 16th for the cricket & Sydney on the 23rd for the cricket and also 26th for Aussie Day. Hopefully it should all work out.

Tonight we attempted chicken, peas and 'home-made chips'! Yep, that's right, chips done in fat, in a pan! Obviously the insurance premiums went up immediately on the van!!
The 'chips' didn't quite come out as planned but it still made a good meal. I don't think Jamie Oliver's got too much to worry about just yet though.
