Woke up at 9am but it was cloudy, so went back to sleep. Woke back up at 10am and it was clear blue skies everywhere! Amazing. We jumped up, had some brekky and made ourselves some sarnies for lunch. We then had a 6 hour walk along the Abel Tasman National Park Coastal Track. This is supposed to be one of New Zealand's "Great Walks" and it sure lived up to it's reputation - it was fantastic.

The views were sensational and with the great weather we had, it was an awesome day. It's definitely one of the best walks we have done so far and we were amazed that we hardly bumped into anyone else!

We had lunch on the beach at Stillwell Bay. The beach was completely empty and was a great place to stop for our picnic. After stuffing our faces we walked up to Yellow Point. Here you can stand on a petruding rock overhanging the ocean and see right down both coasts.

It was here that Lorna nearly plunged to her death. As we were approaching the edge of Yellow Point, she slipped and nearly went over the edge. But my lightning reactions saved her from being mashed potato at the bottom!
OK, so it wasn't actually that dramatic. She did slip and could have had a nasty fall, but there was a tree which she tried to grab which would easily have stopped her. However, I intervened by grabbing her arm, which bent it round the tree and nearly snapped it off at the elbow! I think it's best if I don't interfere next time!

After our adventure, we returned to our bed in a shed to chill & relax. This evening we all had dinner and a few beers together. We are travelling with this group for a few days, so I ought to mention who they are. There is :

Laura from London
Kerrie from Huddersfield
Chris from Thirsk
Rebecca from Sweden
Siobbhan from Ireland
Lauren from Canada
Chris from Liverpool
Barbara from Holland
Lisa, Marcus & Stefan from Germany
Adam from Somerset
Matil from France

It's quite a good group really and should be fun for the next few days.
