Ok, I'll keep this second entry on Torino significantly shorter.
Today I did two exciting food things -- I had an hour long lecture on madeira wines (culminating in tasting a 1977 Bual madeira wine... it was impressive), and I went to this huge wine thing in the Slow Food event, where you pay 5€ to enter, you get a glass and a little glass-holder-bib for free haha, and you go around paying for samples of wines. I tasted... 3? Can't remember which ones exactly.
Also, when I was walking on the street, they were having a public demonstration against the mafia, reading excerpts out of the book ''Gomorra,'' a recent Italian best-seller... when I told them I wasn't a native Italian speaker, they said ''all the better!'' so I ended up reading 2 sentences about cocaine trafficking, haha. My first public appearance in Italy...
More food, more beer, more Italians who resent the fact that they are supposed to work when they're at work... OH and a sampling of a 25 year aged balsamic vinegar. Three more chunks of parmiggiano reggiano. And an unspeakably large purchase of chocolate...
Lastly, the 'Bicerin' caffč, a Torino classic, accompanied by a free slice of Bicerin cake (part of my chocolate tour).
That's all! Goodnight.
