We insist, Yosemite is an incredible park, but it is way to crowded, and with the wrong sort of tourist...the non-nature lovers...the ones that need a microwave to survive each night. Terrible. Again, at 7am the RV's started their diesel engines to cook breakfast and spoilt the few hours of peace.

So, time to move out of camp Disney and go somewhere more peacefull. We travelled a few miles south of the park and found a perfectly empty campground next to a wonderful river at Wawona. No RV's and no loud noises (except the young kid with the family some yards away...what happened to school? Why are all these kids travelling all year round?). Anyway, so great to be away from the masses again!

We decided on a short trail and hike to visit those huge trees called Sequoias (which means big tree in native Indian by the way). We started slowly but ended up walking 6 miles in around three hours. A wonderful walk called Mariposa Grove...alone most of the time.

During our walk we even had a special show. There was a provoked fire to reduce vegetation and one of the huge sequoias caught fire. We were invited by the local fire team to watch their helicopter drop water into the centre of the tree trunk (see pictures).

As a matter of fact, when we arrived at the top of the hike (the view point) it was the first time in days that we were actually alone for a long time watching the scenery. Only the birds sat next to us demanding some food.

Campfire, diner, reading, bla, bla...what a wonderful way to spend evenings...and all along the financial markets in US (and worldwide) are crashing. Bad news is that the Euro and Pound are falling versus Dollar so little by little the currency exchange advantage we were enjoying is diluting. Good we only have a month left...
