Where I stayed
Motel 6 - $69 at some odd exit on the highway. Good.
We started with a late and relaxing breakfast at the motel. It was quite a good breakfast actually in comparison to the other places we have been at (quantity and quality). Marcos could not resist the pile of doughnuts and bagels on display so apart from filling his stomach took quite a handfull for the trip!
Two hours from the motel, and we made it into Philadelphia. If we made Washington in 5 hours, we aimed at Philadelphia in 3! Power touring indeed...and we made it.
Philadelphia is a nice city to walk around, especially in the historic quarter. However, there is one too many tramps and drug abusing citizens in some of the areas we walked along (central areas)
We did what we had to do in Philadelphia and visited the Liberty Bell. What a fantastic history behind this piece of metal!
After the 3 hour power walk, we continued our trip out of the city and along small country roads. Some of the smaller roads are just incredible scenic routs for tourists. One to mention is the road passing Princeton...incredible.
End of road: Motel 6 again. We have several motel guides now and manage to stop where we want to and know the price in advance most of the time. There are also plenty of discount offers for each area at tourist information stops and at "Denny's".
We counted the States we have been through up to now and its quite a few:
- South Carolina
- North Carolina
- Washington D.C.
- New york
