No big news today. We travelled to Latacunga which is a nice colonial town, which should be great tomorrow Saturday as it has one of the main street markets.

We have checked into a lovely hotel which immediately reminded both of us of Bavaria in Germany. It just has the same wooden decoration and feel, and the room is huge, clean and even has small mineral water bottles in each room which is a first in 4 months travel.

The morning was sunny and hot, but the rain came again around 3pm. The problem with that is that we dont get to see any of the surrounding volcanoes (Cotopaxi which is 23 kms away and active). We will probably do a short trekk tomorrow if the clouds disappear.

So what do you do when it grey and rainy? A huge Italian pizza, followed by an oversized ice-cream and a coffee expresso, and a siesta to beat all Chinese doped olympic records.
