Hello there!

After a 14 hour flight we arrived happy in Santiago de Chile at 9.20 on Saturday morning. The flight aver the Andes was breathtaking, so wonderful view over this long long chain of mountains!
The queue on the immgration was quite long, but we managed okay, and after we admired the crafty labradors, that where checking the luggage for drugs, meat, seeds, plants etc, we where picked up by Uncle Pablo (quite amazing those dogs, the wander around paople and luggage very calmly, then one of then sniffed something and put its paws on a suitcase: it belonged to a couple who had seeds in there to nibble. They where not allowed to take them. Chile as an agricultural country needs to keep germs and viruses for plants out).

Santiago has modernized a lot, the motorway around the city has automatic recognition for the toll pay!

At home we were greeted by the rest of the family, and settled down for a few homemade Pisco Sours. And then our very first welcome Earthquake at 3pm. The mix of Pisco Sour and one week in Patrick and Maya's house in Paris (where the Paris Metro makes a slight trembling effect on the building) hid the fact that the whole house was trembling and the furniture was hopping around the room. However, intelligent as we are we realised that there is no Metro close to my uncle's home (less under it)...the temblor lasted about 1 minute.

Marcos insists he had his first "eathquake" experience", but the Spanish language distingueshes between a "terremoto" (Eathquake) and a "temblor" (little shake).
