Jesus's Gallilean base was Capernaum on the north shore of the Sea of Galilee. A first century home with inscriptions identifying the home of St. Peter's mother-in-law, the first century synagogue where Jesus likely worshipped and taught, and the nearby Mount of the Beatitudes, all combined for a tour d'force for this group of pilgrims.

The highlight of the day had to be our own rector, Ken Swanson, teaching on the 6th chapter of John's Gospel. You'll note in the text that Jesus taught these things in the synagogue at Capernaum; only steps from where Ken was teaching the same message today! I'm telling you, this was powerful stuff. "I am the bread of life..."

This day is just one example of why the Holy Land is called the "Fifth Gospel", these places can't help but change the way we will read scripture for the rest of our lives!

We finished the day with a ride across the Sea of Galilee. We all refrained from attempting to walk on the water...
