V Festival Weekend
18 August 2006 - Friday

V Festival to be headed by some awesome bands... Well, why not... when the line-up includes: Radiohead, Beck, Keane, Daniel Powter, Faithless, Razorlight, Hard Fi, Orson, The Cardigans, The Feeling, Groove Armada, Bic Runga, Lilly Allen, Fatboy Slim, Girls Aloud, Sandi Thom, James Morrison amongst others...

Yes, we probably not going to be able to see half the lot but they're there... and it's going to be a fantastic weekend...

Heading off to Chelmsford (from Liverpool Street) via train after work, Nix, Jac and myself were to meet Peter and Rhett who drove through with most of our luggage. The whole event is extrememly well organised and had shuttle buses taking people to and from Chelmsford to Hylands Park where the event was to be held over the weekend.

This being the first huge music festival I'm attending in the UK, I was surprised to see the size of the campsites. There were people, tents, and campervans EVERYWHERE... and I mean everywhere... We walked for about half an hour on arrival just to find the Red Campsite in which we were to be camping, not to mention finding the camping spot itself.

By the time we arrived, Peter and Rhett had already started setting up the tents. Once done we all sat down on our newly bought chairs for a few drinks... Headed off to the beer tent within the Red Campsite for a bit of a dance and a couple more... Upon our return Marc had arrived from travelling all the way from Wales!!!

- Camp set up and ready to go!!

- Beer tent, and then back "home" tent - Marc has arrived!!

19 August 2006 - Saturday
An early morning awakening and we with our oh-so-wholesome burger and fries little take-away cafe parked just outside our tents, we had our good hearty bacon and egg baguette thing, swallowed down with the first class coffee that we bought along with it... MMMMmmm... It does taste good!!

Anyways, as we were waiting for the music to start up (which was early afternoon), we started up on our cocktails and all that went along with it... Glen and Marina had also arrived early in the morning some time to increase our group size from about 6 to 8. The only other person who'd be joining us later on was Mary-Ann though she had to work on the Saturday and was only due to be joining us later in the afternoon...

I'm not really going to tell much else as the photos really tell more of a story...

- Glen and Marina HAVE ARRIVED!!

- The party is about to begin, or has it already started...?

- Nix and I, and Nix and the BIG babies...

- The South African Flag flying high wherever it may be!!
