Another trip to Indonesia has been scheduled for me. This time, it is to the province of South Sumatra which is on Sumatran Island, Indonesia. The South Sumatran province is very famous for its food and history which has been the birth place of many great empires...including the beginning of the Malacca Sultanate in Malaysia which was the largest empire ruling this part of the world in the 15th Century.
Parameswara, a Hindu prince from the city of Palembang which is the capital of South Sumatra province, exiled into Malaysia through Singapore in the early 15th Century and was the founder and first Sultan of the Malacca Empire.
This trip is mainly for business reasons but I shall also take this opportunity to explore this entire province during this trip and would write about them in the coming entries. Hope you find it interesting.
