Where I stayed
I had a very good sleep last night, recuperating from the lack of sleep from the past two days. This morning, left the hotel around 8.30 am and I was able to reach Odeon Towers in the heart of the city within 30 minutes.I just learnt today from the taxi driver that Odeon Towers was previously the Odeon Theatre in Singapore, once upon a time playing classic Malay movies.
It was another full day to go with the training. We started around 9.15 am and it continued until 1pm when we broke for lunch. Today, the entire team decided to have chicken rice instead. This specific restaurant is highlighted in the Singapore Green Book....a book meant for the best restaurants. It was a short walk, something within the distance of 800 meters.
Once we arrived,we had to wait for almost 15 minutes to get a place to sit.The restaurant was simple and basic with no frills but it was definitely packed and staffs were literally running to take orders and serve the customers. Lunch today was quite simple, Steamed Rice, Steamed Chicken, Roasted Chicken, Pork Spring Rolls, Mutton Ribs Black Pepper Soup and some vegetables. We were a group of around seven and the total bill was only around SGD 65, which is very cheap by Singapore standards.Food was good too.
Right after lunch, we continued back to office to finish the second half of the training session. The training for the day was concluded around 6.30 pm and thereafter,I took a taxi over to Marina Bay Sands Hotel and started touring the place. Definitely such a beautiful building with shops inside and some theatres, hotel, bars and casino. On the top floor, there is a number of bars too.Just to go up, one has to pay a fee of SGD 30 and this fee is applicable even if you are going up to dine in the restaurants. After the short tour of the building, i went over to the park below and started walking around the park area and also towards the small jetty which faces the main attractions of Singapore....the Marina Bay Hotel, Singapore Flyer,Merlion and the new Theatre House (something like the Opera House in Sydney). Took some beautiful photographs (I am glad that I could get the right angel this trip compared to the disaster which happened the last trip) and also did stop some passing tourists to take a few photos of me. :) At least,I should have some photographs with me in it too.
With that done, it was almost 10 pm.Got another cab and headed back to the hotel. Just before getting into the room, had dinner at a local restaurant near the hotel. Another roasted speacialty shop, my dinner comprised of Rice and Stewed Pork,a plate of Roasted Duck and clear soup boiled with Chicken Feet. Sounds like an interesting menu ...hehehe.
With that, just back to my room and called it a day.
