From the earlier point, we had to board a small boat called 'sampan' in the Vienamese language through some small streams. Coincidentally, such a boat is also called Sampan in the Malay language.

This was a short stretch of around 15 minutes riding time and then we had to exchange boats with a larger one which would take us to the other island to have our lunch. This boat ride took something like around 30 minutes.

The specialty of the meal here is that we would be tasting the Elephant Ear Fish, something unique for this island only. Besides eatling it the usual way, this fish is deep fried and then it would be wrapped in the rice paper with some mint leaves and rice vermicelli, wrapped and dipped into soy sauce. It tasted not bad though. Of course, for us who are so used to eating fish the way it is, this seemed like something completely new to us.

Here on this island, we arrived at a large restaurant with many small huts. We were seated under one of the smaller huts as it was only two of us and we were served this meal. It was interesting to watch the young Vietnamese lady wrap the rice paper so neatly. Im sure, if I were to do the same, it would have been a very untidy wrap.

After our lunch, we continued back to the mainland on the same boat. The total journey was around 1 hour. As by this time, due to the sun mainly, we were feeling very dehydrated and tired. Mostly we were trying to take some photographs and later even got a short nap.

Back in My Tho, we got into our car and head back to Saigon city.
