Long leave...very boring...so just took a drive up to the Gap i.e. the entrance point to Fraser's Hills. Pretty cold place and very very breezy. The road up from Kuala Kubu Baru is very winding though but great scenery along the way. You would pass the Selangor State Dam, some Waterfalls and finally at the Gap, the Rest House (Colonial Style) and 2 shops...just that at the Gap. The Rest House is great with good food. Lodging is cheap as well, just RM 41 per noght per room. A room has 2 double king size beds and they are very clean. Amenities are basic. No air cond or fan as you dont need one. The Rest House at the Gap is powered by genset and therefore electricity is rationed. During the day , you would get supply between 1.00 pm untill 3 pm and after that its only from 7.00pm till midnight. After that...its candle light time. But ...hey its a great place and would definitely be an unforgetable experience.I love the breeze and the waterfalls. If you fall sick out of winding roads, please be prepared with the needful medication.
To reach the Gap, please use the North SOuth Highway and exit at Bukit Beruntung. Then, head towards Batang Kali town and when you reach a junction, turn left heading to Kuala Kubu Bahru. From there, you would reach a traffic light which you would need to turn right. Then drive straight all the way. Just follow the signage to Frasers Hill.
