We finally reached the holy temple of Kataragama, the city where religious harmony is present.
The temple itself was not too busy but we had to queue a long time, I think about two hours before we got into the sanctum.
I went around the temple proper from the Manik Gangga river which runs at the entrance of the temple up to the elephant stables.
By the time we left the temple, it was late night, almost 10pm and we headed to the hotel, a quick bath, dinner, some beer and rushed for some sleep.
