This morning we were up at 0600 as planned and got ready and head out to the riverside by 0700.

By the time we got at the riverside, most of the prayers were already done The only reason that kept them there was to wait for the milk supply which is a mandatory item for the milk pot bearers which is the majority in this procession and which is what this procession is all about. They would carry these milk pots on their heads as part of their vows and head to the temple for the Abishega which you would be able to see in the next entry.

Well, the riverside referred to is the Bernam River which is the natural boundary between the state of Selangor and Perak. The procession starts at Selangor and the proceeds to Perak. As intense as it may sound, its just a stone throw away :)

But they walk through the town bare footed and this is something which we need to give them credit for. It takes about an hour for the procession to reach the temple. It is a long troop and take a great deal in managing the traffic and crowd. As you can see, we have a good deal of volunteers supporting this cause and it is indeed a great help and I appreciate them for it.

Now, the next entry is going to be from the temple itself which would include photos and videos of the Abishegam. Hope that you would stay with me to witness it as well.

Hi Jay, yes compared to the usual kavadi processions in other temples where they have a river running along their temple, it is a long walk but we're used to it and its fun too :)
