After our lunch, I decided to take the state road and not the highway to Penang Island. This road is not that crowded and it felt better to take this stretch as there were no toll imposed on users.

Instead of heading directly to the island, we decided to stop over at the industrial town of Seberang Perai. Well, this this town was definitely much larger than Kulim and the neighboring towns and had gained much economically after it was designated at a Industrial town.

From my drive around here, there were so many large hotel chains here, so many malls and the streets were so huge and well organised. However, my intent of stopping here at this town was mainly to visit the local Bird Park, which I did visit about a year ago.

Since I had my father with me and he had not visited this bird park, I decided to do a brief stop here visiting these beautiful creatures. The park itself is not so huge as the one in Kuala Lumpur and here there is no open aviary for the birds to fly around.

Most of the birds here are in cages, and others are strapped at their feet to bar them from flying. It is sad to see that and one would surely get a saddened look in their eyes. I guess, the owners cannot do much here as this is a privately owned bird park and they do not get any funding assistance from the government. The number of visitors too are not that great as not many know of their existence.

As for me, I mainly came here to treat my camera. I hope you find the photographs interesting. We spent almost 2 hours here, partly rushed out due to the intolerable heat. With this place completed, we head to the island of Penang.
