Where I stayed
Last night after having a long chat and multiple laughs over what transpired over this trip, we did not realise time was flying and finally when we head to be it was already three am. Oh gosh, I knew that this morning was going to be very difficult for me.
Set the alarm at five am and when it rang, I wished I could just shut it off and sleep for another hour but unfortunately, as the flight is at nine am, we have to check out at six am. We just had an hour to get ready and pack the bags in time for check out.
Quickly we got ready, skipped breakfast and headed down for the checkout. Luckily it was a weekend and the usual traffic jam in the city was missing. After the check out was completed, we got the hotel's assistance to get a taxi. As it was a Sunday, it was little difficult to get a taxi and by the time we got the taxi, it was already 6.30 am.
Luckily, the airport was not too far. Initially I thought that it would come to al lot to reach the airport by taxi but it was a mere IDR 30,000 which works out to around USD 3. We reached the airport at sharp seven am.
At the airport, most of the activity was for domestic flights and it was only in February, which is this month that Air Asia started flying in to this city and they had opened up the International gateways. Hence, there was only one waiting lounge for International flights and it was quite basic. Seemed like it was constructed in an urgent manner and there were no stalls or shops inside once we cleared immigration. I was feeling quite hungry but good thing was that, the sleepiness assisted me in overcoming the hunger.
The flight was on time and at 8.30 am, we boarded the flight. Once we got our seats, both of us, immediately shut our eyes and were in deep sleep. We never even realised the flight taking off and the pre flight instructions. Good that I can catch at least another two hours sleep on board the flight.
