Hello Again
It's been over a month since I've entered anything, I thought it was about time. The problem is that we're caught in sort of a "Groundhogs Day" (like the movie)--it's kind of the same story as last year.
I have been sticking to a workout plan for the past two months and i'm finally starting to see results. My friend and I do video workouts every night after work--kick boxing, boot camp and sculpting. Ron's been lifting weights and using the elliptical alot. I swear that this year during our vacation I will not let myself go again. It sure was fun not working out and eating everything I wanted while on vacation for three months...although I'm paying for it now.
It's been a long month--5 weeks in between two-day weekends and that's a long time. It's finally coming up this weekend and it should be fun. This Saturday Ron and I were invited to a dinner party at Scott Base. They came over and picked us up, served us Indian food (yum), and we had a great time. It's neat to see everyone in dress-up clothes because mostly you see people covered up and wearing carharts. I wore my newest treasure from goodwill--a bright orange, polyester jumpsuit. It was a hit.
I almost forgot, we did another polar plunge. To celebrate the last sunset, we went to Scott Base and for the fourth time jumped into the icy water. This was the most brutal jump of all--it was windy this time and the hut was a bit further from the hole than last year. A little different from last year too was there was a barbecue afterwards (instead of a pizza party)--they even served venison. It's always a treat to eat over at Scott Base.
Since there are so many more of the Kiwis than last year, I played "name that kiwi" before the dinner party this weekend. I cut out their pictures from the yearbook and folded their names over and memorized them all. It worked out great and I was able to remember most peoples names...and I think they got a laugh out of the fact that I studied before going over.
That's about it--work is still going good, and we're already into May. The darkness is just beginning and I know it will be over before we know it.
