Halloween!
Okay, so it was quite awhile ago but since I hadn't started my travelogue then (and since I don't have anything exciting to write about this week), I wanted to include it. If you're coming down for summer, a costume is definitely something to think about bringing. This event was big--hundreds of people in really creative costumes having a great time. The party was held in the gym and when I look at the pictures now, it's weird to remember how light it is out even at night. I still think it's weird to go to a party at night when the sun is shining and when you leave (at midnight or later), it's still bright light. Remember the song "I wear my sunglasses at night"? Anyway, the place was packed. It was especially fun for me because I got a lot of attention, being a Hooters Girl with Glenn. I didn't know Glenn before this party but I was really glad he was there--it made it so much funnier. We had our picture taken a lot and even entered the costume contest (we didn't win though). I'm attaching some pictures of my favorite costumes...people really went all out. The only downside of working winters from now on may be missing the Halloween party, but at least I got the chance to go to this one. I guess I'll be spending Halloweens in New Zealand for the next couple of years--I wonder what that's like?
It's Saturday today and there's nothing planned for the weekend--the Recreation Board says "Take time off and rest this Saturday night".
