Pattaya seems to be more than just a oversexed tourist destination!! The key is though you must tour the entire city and not just the tourist spots. True enough the city is still overrun with tourist but sanity can be found. The key is to know a local person that knows the city.

I went to a good show named Nong Nooch Tropical Garden to see a Thai Cultural and Elephant Show. It was excellent! The whole place is like a botanical garden in pattaya. I also went to Pattaya's version of the 'floating market', the original is in Bangkok. There you can take canoe rides on traditional Thai canoes and also it is literally a market where you can buy vegetables etc. from small canoes.

Yes I enjoyed pattaya but it still cant beat the north and northeast of Thailand in any way. I really just stayed there to relax and enjoy. The scene n Pattaya is easy and quick. Quite comfortable for a westerner looking to just relax.

I love Thailand for it's low crime rate and honesty of its people. I was watching the news today and they spent almost one half hour on a story of a lady getting her purse stolen while she was cutting down some banana leaves. I said to myself in the America  the story would be about getting your child stolen. What a contrast!!

Like I said much safer!!

The best beach by far is Jomtien Beach which is more quiet, less turist and great for families and couples. The beach is located around the corner from the downtown pattaya beach. I prefer this one to relax.

See ya when I see ya.......
