Where I stayed
Well my peoples I went South to Pattaya. This city is like Rio De Janiero on steroids. Dig if you will the picture of a carnival like atmosphere for about 4-5 miles of nothing but tourist, crazy drinking, prostitutes, massage joints, and whatever else you can find. But don't picture it like in the USA its not seedy at all, actually its quite fun! (he,he) There are mostly tourist from Europe here, Germans, Russian and the u.k. Its peculiar here because even the hookers are nice people. We can sit and talk like normal people and they tell me about their lives and where they re from and then ask me if I want service, of course I always say 'no' (he,he). I have to say I like the people of Thailand. Service here is a step up from south America and on par with the USA.
Of course everybody swears I'm African, so I'm the Chocolate Man from the USA, I love it! I didn't post any pics yet but I guess I will but this is 'the same old hat' here. But I'm a 'people watcher' so this is great for my travels. When i first started traveling 5 years ago nonstop I had a list of countries and Uta almost complete. This trek Im going to hit Philippines next, china and maybe Malaysia.
Stay tuned, same bat channel but a different bat time........

"I always say 'no' (he,he)" . That's like saying I smoke the stuff, but I don't inhale it!
Hey Vaughnyb how are you and the extended travel going? Before you left Lima for Brazil you sent me some excellent information on life in Lima for an Afro American. A couple weeks ago I discovered you blog. Congratulation on an outstanding document. I love the details.
I have read all of your posts and I encourage you to continue sharing information. I am especially interest in your travel through Thailand and the Philippines. Are you planning to visit Chiang Mai during your stay in Thailand? Since retirement, I have lived in Panama. Prior to retirement, I spent three plus years working in Colombia. I have to admit that while I visited Medellin, I did not explore it as a place to live. I am now taking a second look.

Hey Harry, Glad that I am able to help you through my experiences. Yes I am visiting Chiang Mai now! originally it was not on my schedule but I would like to get to know the real Thai culture so I added Chiang Mai and will stay there for about a week. Stay tuned as I post from there with plenty of photos of the 'real' Thailand....
