Guayaquil!!!!!!!!

If you remember from my post b4 Guayaquil is a mid sized city, not too big not too small, the climate is between 75/90 degrees, has a suburb called Samborondon which is like Miami. We are staying at Casa de Romero whiich is a private house the rents rooms. This was an excellent choice for us because it gave us access to a kitchen, wireless Internet and it was very cozy. The casa was in the suburbs of Guayaquil which I love, I like to live near the action not in it. 10 minutes aways to be exact. This part of town is where the so called rich peole live so its safe as well. The owner of the casa didn't even have to lock the doors at nite because the communities here are private with a guard when you enter the subdivision.

The city seems pretty ordered and controlled so unlike lima I wont have block parties till 4 in the morning because there are noise ordinances like the U.S. in Guayaquil . The music here is all from the 80s and 90s  from the US and that's my era. They play allot of soul and R and B here, hmmmmmmmm  sounds good. The breathtaking beaches I have wrote about on this trips to the other cities are no more than 3 or 4 hours away, Quito the capital  is 8 hours but the buses in this country are a cool $8, so I believe that Guayaquil fits the bill with what we are looking for.

We decided to look for an apartment of our own for a month while we search for a Villa or house to rent. We found one in a community called Lomas de Urdessa, which in spanish lomas means hills. We are staying there now as I write this post but this is the city and not the suburbs even though Las de Urdessa is in a small residential area of the city.  Its not as loud as Lima but its the city and I'm a boy from the suburbs so that is what I'm accustomed to. Waking up to the sound of birds.

We began looking for Villas and found one in Entre Rios, which is inn the suburbs of Samborodon. Everything is in walking distance that we need , but the subdivision is closed to the public and a a great location near the city, a $4 cab ride. Normally cab rides in Guayaquil are between 1.50 and 2.00 but the house in the suburbs so I will pay for that. Its a 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath with a separate dining room for $550 per month. A good deal!! Sp we signed lease for a year so were here to stay for a while!!!

This city is a good city complete with about 8 malls the size of any American style mall and just as modern. Good restaurants, easy accessibility to weekend excursion to the beach and exotic locations. Also I do want to return to Peru occasionally especially since my girlfriend traveling with me is from there, Columbia is a $200 flight away and Venezuela is near too. This country is a good jump off point to visit the countries I ha-vent traveled to yet.

Stay tuned......................
