We only up staying in Danang for one day and then taking off to Hoi An, but the ride over there and the small time that we spent in this charming little town are worth writing about. First thing first, the ride over there had to be one of the best experiences I've had since being in Vietnam. I don't really remember any of the scenery, all that I recall was that in the very beginning of the three hour journey, Andreanne had offered her ipod to me to listen to. The night before I had checked out her selection and was very impressed. Mike, she, and me were all in successive window seats which meant we weren't exactly having conversations, we all had books with which to occupy our time till Danang. Well I put on the earphones and started listening to some of her music. I was just browsing around by artist until I stumbled upon a group I didn't recognize. The name of the group is Muse and she had their album titled Black Wholes and Revelations. Now anyone who knows me well enough knows that I'm emphatic about music that I find great. So here it is, I began listening to this album and instantly I was sucked into it. I listened to the whole thing from start to finish and I would of done it twice if I had the time and battery power. I loved it! I couldn't get over how much I enjoyed the experience of it all, the bus ride went by without my having even noticed it. Just as the album ended we reached our rest area where buses stop every two hours or so to allow the passengers to use the bathroom and have a snack. I was in such a great mood afterwards I just cant even convey to you. Maybe its because I've been without good music for so long now but I feel I had the musical appreciation equivalent of a great orgasm. So that's all I remember of the way over to Danang. Oh, we ended up going through the longest tunnel the three of us had ever seen, and I also was now ipod-less and having to make small talk to a tool that sat next to me that I never noticed before.
We arrived in the early evening, wondered around until we found a hotel and then set out for dinner. We happened to stumble across a whole in the wall restaurant that where you could make your own spring rolls. This was just too god and we devoured the whole spread with the quickness. We then set out for a little more food and found a cafe that served bam-bow, the vietnamese equivalent of large steamed buns. We ate some pasty things there and I had a coffee with my bam-mow. All the food was outstanding and we were left stuffed. Afterwards we returned and just hung out and watched HBO in our swanky hotel room until we all fell asleep. We had a 'mood' light that comes standard with all Asian hotel rooms except this one actually had a naked girl on it which we all got a kick out of, see the pics for that. We woke up the next day, went for a good solid run, and then set back out and scouted around for an ATM and some food. We found that for the most part in Vietnam, 'cafe' means coffee and other drinks only, and there were sooo many cafes around all of a sudden. We finally walked by another whole in the wall, and having already had such a great experience, decided to give it a go. Damn this was some grub! The breakfast was filling as hell and delicious to boot!
Afterwards we booked a bus ticket out of Danang to Hoi An and just hung out until the bus finally came. The next leg of the trip was only an hour and a half by bus and then we were in Hoi An the land of custom tailored clothing.

Are you kidding me?
You have the worst memory ever! I played the Muse for you while we were driving to Pismo Beach when you and Mike came down to visit me in SLO. I even remember the moment. I know it is a new album and all, but come on.
