Smooth flight in a little 19 seater. A bit bigger than the one we flew to Barrier on last year, but not much. Even had a co-pilot this time, not much in the way of instrumentation though - no radar, no autopilot or anything - even saw the co-pilot pull out a map at one point. Still we made it here to Bocas del Toro ok :)
Picked up at the airport by the head teacher at our school, Cecilia, and went to school where we waited for the head of our host family, Alfredo, to pick us up. And drive us 200m back down the road to his house, where we'll be staying for the next 4 weeks. There is another guy staying there too - Paul from Switzerland, also studying Spanish, plus surfing. The rest of the family is away on holiday at the moment, and Alfredo is at work for 12-13 hours a day, so we've got the place pretty much to ourselves at the moment.
It's all pretty primitive, cold water showers, old, under-maintained houses etc... Interesting to see how they live in this part of the world.
Had our first morning in school yesterday, went ok. Kristina has 1 on 1 this week since she's more advanced. I'm sitting with a guy from Poland, Greg, who can't speak much Spanish yet either. It's nice that there are so few of us.
Going diving tomorrow after school, so that'll be cool and then on Thursday we're having a school trip to the beach for the day :) It certainly is a tough life.
They have internet at school, but it's slow and only 1 pc, so we'll see how much time we'll have to use it. Don't know when we'll get a chance to load up photos but no doubt we'll find time over the next month or so :)
Oh yeah, the luggage turned up ok, the next day.
