Hello!!
After a quick hour train from Meknes, we arrived in Fes and found an inexpensive hostel (cheapest we've had so far), which was located again in the ville nouvelle area. Our first day in Fes comprised of checking email, sitting in cafes drinking fresh squeezed OJ and walking around the new town trying to find an information office with no luck.
The next day we headed to the medina, which was twice the size of Meknes' medina, but had markers with different routes directing you throughout the medina. The medina consisted of different specialty areas, which are known as souks. Some of the souks sold jewellery, leather, brass; others sold livestock, produce, spices, etc. It is quite a city within a city. One area Jeremy desired to go view were the tanneries. The tanneries are where the hides of various animals are colored in large vats of dye. It was not the most pleasant smell but both of us were able to view the tanneries from a rooftop of a local leather shop. The view was incredible as you will see in the pictures.
After two days in Fes, we were off to Marrakech!!
