Have you ever been to a movie and you walked away captivated by the scenery? Well that was the case when Johan (under protest) and I went to see Leap Year. We loved the scenery, and Johan decided that a visit to Ireland was my Valentines gift. Not that he celebrates Valentines day - he always say that it is a commercial holiday only aimed at robbing honest people from their hard earned money. I assume this time it was different, either we are not going to pay for the holiday, or we do not earn our money the hard way. We did have a strike of the "Irish luck" when a business visit to Ireland came up for me. It just made sense to combine the vacation and some work - (at least I earn my money the hard way).
Planning is well underway at least to the level that we plan the trip. We bought the travel books, two plane ticket, a I have a hotel reservation for the week that I will work in Dublin, but for the rest we will go with the flow, travel where the wind will blow us. Kris bought us "The Irish Drinking Companion", and with that in the travel bag we should be good to go.
We are almost packed, and excitement is running high. Now I just have to finish up the tons of work before we leave the house on Tuesday 6 am.
For our trip this will be the motto:
Wherever you go and whatever you do, may the luck of the Irish be there with you.

A couple of thing to consider when in Ireland, Guiness is their equivelant of water and a Bloody Mary is a great hangover cure (it has tomato juice in it so its good). In Dublin a bar man isnt just a bar man, they are Gods as they dictate whether or not a good night becomed lengendary or not. And religion there is like Comparing the NBA to The NFL, dont bring it up!
Remember to take a ton of pictures, I want to feel like Im there with all the pictures you share when you come back and pappa I expect a new picture upload everyday on facebook I love you both
Like a good "son" you commented on our blog, and you kept your other parents (thats us) up to conversations to steer away from. Just like all the other kids :-)
What a good daughter to actually check what we are doing. Love you and we will keep you posted.
