our park permits. Drove 7k to Dove
Lake. This is at the base of Cradle
Mountain. Hiked 4 miles around the lake
in about 2 hrs. Spectacular
scenery. Unfortunately some of the
mountain was in clouds but it was still amazing to walk the wooden boardwalk
around 80% of the trail. An Austrian man
named Waldheim discovered this area in 1932.
Then we drove back the same winding road and on to Hobart
for about 4 hrs. In Tasmania we drove
another 400 miles. Stopped by the
Salamanca Saturday Market but we were just a bit late. Leaving tomorrow for
Christchurch, New Zealand to pick up our RV for 3 weeks. We have to fly back to Melbourne and then on
to Christchurch, NZ.
