We were heading south-east, from the Falls of Iguazu to Florianopolis in Brazil, when we stopped for water and a Brazilian truck driver approached us…
Truck driver (in Portuguese): Where are you coming from today?
Fernando: Florianopolis
Truck driver (in Portuguese): Where are you headed?
Fernando: Florianopolis
Truck driver (in Portuguese): Where are you from?
Fernando: Florianopolis
Truck driver (in Portuguese): Really? (he is now quite confused)
Margarita: No. He's Colombian and I Ecuadorian
Truck driver (in Portuguese): Oh! Ok. Now that is far.

Chofer (en Portuguese): Para donde van?

Margarita: No. Es de Colombia y yo de Ecuador
