Another GREAT day on our summer vacation. Tim and I went to Alexandria Bay today which is about 45 miles down the St.Lawrence river from my Dad's house. We went to Alex Bay last year and took a tour of Boldt Castle. This year we decided to tour another castle on the river called Singer Castle. We took a three hour tour which started in Alexandria bay then took us down the river for a narrated boat ride of about an hour. We then stopped at Dark Island and had a tour of the Singer Castle (which is named after the fifth president of the singer sewing machine company). The castle was beautiful and the history of it very interesting. They have a lot of the original items from when it was built and lived it (late 1800's-early 1900s). The weather was amazing again! We really lucked out with weather this year again. It has only rained on and off a few times during our entire trip which has definitely been helpful for traveling and doing fun things! After we took a tour of the castle we had another hour boat ride back to Alexandria Bay. We ate at a BBQ restaurant that we ate at last year (we liked it so much we decided to go back). I had an amazing pulled pork quesadilla..yummm. I was kind of indifferent to going back to Alexandria Bay this year because we spent a good amount of time there last year, but I'm glad we went.
