We are here! Well, we have been here for a while. The flight got in at 5:00 am this morning so its been a long day. No trouble getting through customs although they did have to sanitize our boots. Must have seen the bits of horse pucky in mine. :)

Then onto the car rental and Steve getting his first experience with driving on the wrong side (ok correct side for over here) of the road. He is doing wonderfully and I haven't had to yell 'LEFT!' once. Breakfast and a fruitless hunt for a prepaid cell phone had us very familiar with downtown Auckland. What do ya know, we passed two Starbucks, a McDonalds, Wendys, Burger King, Borders and Subway. Just like home.

When we finally passed enough time wandering around we checked into the B&B and took a well deserved nap. Refreshed and showered the next stop was a much much much longer than anticipated walk/hike to Mt Eden and the Eden gardens. Very pretty sights but our post 13 hour plane flight legs were a little shocked that we would abuse them in that manor.

That's all for today, now to rest and plan tomorrow.

Hi Val and Steve,
Karl Dreyer sent Steve an e-mail with his friend's address in New Zealand.

I love your blog! I'm really glad you two are so computer literate so we can enjoy your travels with you.

Scarlet yowls a lot, but she has settled down somewhat. She spends most of her time in my sewing room. She is good company when she is not hissing or growling at an intruder. Tigger is pretty content as long as he gets to sit on the back of the couch when he feels like it.

Love, Mom
