The day train from Split to Zagreb was about a million times better than the night train the opposite direction. We were in proper seats with arm rests, and the views out the window were stunning. Thank goodness we decided to go back to Zagreb during the day! Unfortunately, the train was really late getting into Zagreb. At least it wasn't 105 degrees on this train...

We decided to stay at a different hostel this time because the last one was rather dirty. The two hostels were literally one street away, which was convenient because we accidentally stole the key from the first hostel, so we were able to return it really easily. After settling in and checking emails, we met up with our Dutch friends from Budapest! They went to Bratislava while we were in Split, so we decided to orchestrate a rendezvous during our time in Zagreb. Fun! Luckily, we were also able to book beds at the same hostel, so meeting up was really convenient.

We went to lunch with the boys and got some delicious creamy pasta, then sat around in a park for a while and enjoyed the sun. Because we were all tired from travelling, we went back to the hostel to rest and play some card games! Jenna and I taught them a game this time (Rummy), but it required much more active thought than the last game, so I don't think they liked it as much... haha!

Then we spent some time showering/getting ready to go out, then tried to go out to a club. Because it was Tuesday, the club was obviously closed-- it is really easy to forget what day it is when you are travelling. Instead, we went back to the park to hang out with some of the locals. The local scene in Zagreb on a Tuesday night is much different from the scene in Budapest-- everyone in Zagreb was between the ages of 14 and 17! We went dancing at some club underneath the park that played ridiculous tunes from the early 90's that were mixed with house beats. We were approximately 5 years too old to fit into the fun, so we decided to just walk around Zagreb instead. Lucky we were in good company!

The next morning, we woke up early to try and go to a national park in Croatia, but the weather was bad so the boys decided to follow our plan and come with us to Ljubljana for the day! This train is only 3 hours long and it takes us back into the EU! Will post from Slovenia soon. Do videnja!
