As soon as Scott and I boarded our red eye flight to KL we passed right out and woke up in the land of malls, mosques & mojitos. We got to Shan and Mike's extremely early in the morning, it was so nice to see Shan when she popped out of the elevator to take us up to their place (and what a place!)

When Scott and I walked in we felt like we were at a five star hotel; nice bedroom, our own bathroom, a beautiful pool, gym and a library! And of course two great hosts. Shan and Mike instantly made us feel at home. After unpacking a bit Scott and I passed out in our nice comfy bed, woke up late and were told to get ready for a little surprise that Mike and Shan had planned.

We went out on the town and ended up going to a place called sky bar which, as the name suggests, has an outstanding view of KL's skyline (and we made it just in time for sunset). We all enjoyed a few drinks and the view, it made for a good relaxin first night.

The rest of our week was spent out on the town, exploring little India, Chinatown, the butterfly park & the central market. We also celebrated St- Patty's day out on the town with Shan and Mike's gaelic football team, loads of Guinness was consumed and a lot of drunkin singing was involved. Good times.

Speaking of consumption, KL has such an awesome variety of delicious food. I honestly wish I was constantly hungry. With all the different cultures in this city your surrounded by all the great stuff you have to basically search Korea high and low for, it was hard to contain ourselves. We had our fair share of indian, chinese and one of the best stakes I've ever had...oh and reese peanut butter cups...need I say more?! (For those of you who are reading this from Korea you can understand my excitement).

It was nice to have a wonderful place to stay and to be around great friends, with Burma around the corner I want nothing but to take advantage of the hot shower, the air conditioning and the up to date public transportation.

Off to Burma soon...getting geared up.
