By the time I was back in Vegas I had the flu – bad. I was so tired, my skin and eyes hurt, I was burning up but had goosebumps and swallowing was the most painful thing ever.

I decided to spend a quiet night sleeping but naturally was talked out of that by the hostel staff who insisted I go to club night. I held off drinking pre-drinks until we were almost leaving when I had one beer. During pre-drinks I met an Aussie guy named Isaac who was travelling with an American he'd met in San Francisco named AG. Isaac was smart and considerate, and managed to hook-up with a pretty hot chick later that night. I spent most of my night with AG. This is the night where staff motives are questioned. The manager was acting a little seedy towards me so I avoided him a little and the British guy in charge of the outing, Adam, was hitting on me majorly (trying to makeout with me numerous times). Luckily for me I had absolutely ZERO interest in these guys even before I realised they may be more suited to the 'prick’ category than many other possibly more redeeming qualities. So, with the flu I wasn’t feeling like going wild and thankfully to AG was happy to just hang out and chat about random shit, she made what would have been an awful night an enjoyable one instead.

At 3am we tracked down the manager and told him it was time he took us back to the hostel, we’d informed him that he was past his curfew.

The next morning I felt ratshit – the flu was killing me. Luckily I didn’t feel quite as bad as the guy in the bed next to mine as he had thrown up on his bed and on someone’s shoes while he’d been sleeping. Also, once awake he spent the rest of the day throwing up in the bathroom until I left at 3pm.

Clint contacted me and wondered what I was doing. I told him I was planning on enjoying the freebies on the strip and he liked the idea so we organised to go do that together. Whatever, even though he is strange it might be okay.

Clint was still being weird only this time it seemed like he was hitting on me… what is with people in Vegas? I mean, seriously I’m sick and all these losers approach me, obviously they can tell I am weaker than usual but don’t realise I am still mentally capable of telling them to F-off.

I kept the night strictly activity based, I had the whole night planned around free stuff to do on the strip. Unfortunately a lot of the shows were cancelled due to strong winds. Obviously fates way of telling me I will have to return to Vegas when I am well.

Honestly though, I was happy to get on the bus and say GOOD RIDDANCE to Clint forever and to Vegas for now. I was looking forward to recovery time in San Diego. Of course, knowing my brother I’d have to harden up and get through the weekend before I could actually hope for any sort of rest and relaxation.

As for the highlights: Circus Circus Casino is by far my favourite – anyone who knows me could guess why!
