One afternoon when Yuka, Lorena, Lærke and I were trying to figure out what to do I suggested we hav some Mai Tais on the beach. We went down to this expensive pink place and got two Mai Tai's between the four of us. Our server casually asks us if we are all over 21. To which we all reply, 'yes’. He then responds with another casual ‘alright’. But hey, atleast he asked right?
The original Mai Tai was delicious, the other Mai Tai tasted like bubblegum (Lorena preferred that one). I have to admit I’m kinda addicted to Mai Tai’s now, can’t think of them without smiling at my memory of their taste.
So of course with this new obsession I had to try another one from a different place. A pub around the corner from the hostel had caught Lærke and my attention several times. Plenty of guys and everyone always seemed to be having a good time. It was decided; we’d go check it out. As it was on the second floor of a hotel we weren’t sure if we were allowed to be in there. We still gave it a go, walking slowly towards the bar.
Suddenly, a man waves enthusiastically towards us, to that I instinctively responded with a big wave in return wondering if I’d met him before and simply forgot.
We order 2 Mai Tai’s that cost $4.25 each due to happy hour (by the way, drinking establishments are smart enough to include tax in the price) and we go sit down to drink and chat. The guy who waved comes over to us and asked "so, what brought you here?"
“It just looked like a happy place,” I answered.
“It is a happy place, it’s a gay-bar.”
BOMB DROPPED. LIGHTBULB TURNS ON.
Lærke and I laugh out of shock and then suddenly all the strange things we’d both noticed but hadn’t really mentioned as we entered made sense… we had finally joined the dots!
We also stayed for two more Mai Tai’s cause they were super tasty.

Comments
so what is in said mai tai??
Pretty sure it is rum, Curaçao liqueur, and lime juice... but there are so many varieties that it really depends where you get one and which type you order.
