Wandered up a steep stone road to the fort which again is very impressive. Apparently in the 1100's a hermit had his humble home on top of this hill. Along came the Maharaj and he decided it would be a cool place to build his fort so he evicted the hermit. Understandably the homeless hermit was a bit aggrieved due to his current situation so he cursed the hill telling the land grabbing Maharaj that he would never have enough water. Now being a powerful ruler the Maharaj decided that the only way to break the curse was to have a sacrifice.Explaining this plight to his loyal subjects one of them decided to volunteer and agreed to be buried alive in the foundation of the fort
The Fort was interesting and a massive structure. It was in a bit of chaos as Beyonce had hired it for a private party and there were hundreds of people decorating and setting up. It looks like it should be a huge affair.
On my way back down Mrs Kumar saw me and invited back into her home and was upset that I couldnt join a class so taught me how to make proper Indian chai and emailed a lot of recipes. She refused to take any money. what a wonderful friendly person and I am sad that I missed this opportunity
