Took a Tuk Tuk to Sarnath which is about 10 km from where I am staying. As with everything here you negotiate a price and  a time of return before you leave. Make sure both parties understand the agreement. Then you can start your trip. We haggled and eventually agreed 450 rupees for the return trip and I would be there for 2 hours. After a dusty bumpy ride we arrived and the driver then said we would be leaving in an hour. After a brief argument I said that's fine he could leave but I would only pay him after my trip. So he agreed to wait two hours.

Sarneth is one of 4 Holy places associated with the life of Buddha. This is the place where he preached his first sermon after obtaining enlightenment. This was known as The turning Wheel of Law. There is also a Jain temple. The site was first bought to attention in 1798 when ruins dating back to 2BC were uncovered.

very relaxing place to wander around. Calm and peaceful. It makes me wonder about the skill and patience people had to be build such huge and ornately carved structures all that time ago.

Once we got back to Varanasi the driver then wanted to haggle the price. It really annoys me that this happens all the time and the only to resolve this is to get rude and abrupt. They then accept this and everything is all smiles. I guess it is just their way of making a quick buck
