It's getting closer now. House is sold. Furniture and a lifetime of collecting crap is being sold and it's time to make plans. What I can't carry I don't want anymore
in 2007 I was diagnosed with cancer and after a serious operation and some hectic medication I am enjoying life again. I still have 3 small tumors but they seem to be behaving themselves. Now is the time for me to go on an adventure. "Remember what Bilbo used to say: It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to." – JRR TolkienMy rough plan is to head of to Mumbai and then see where the wind takes me. i would like to go to Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and China.I am planning to take a year and have no real itinerary and if I like somewhere I will stay and if not will move on. If I hear of somewhere interesting I will detour of my planned route. I have worked as a chef and had my own pubs and restaurants and I would like to learn traditional ways of cooking. Not fancy restaurant food, but the food that is prepared and cooked in homes.
I would really like to hear from any travelers on advice, hints, tips etc.

One of the gladdest moments of human life, methinks, is the departure upon a distant journey into unknown lands. Shaking off with one mighty effort the fetters of habit, the leaden weight of routine, the cloak of many cares and the slavery of home, man feels once more happy.” – Sir Richard Francis Burton
