A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on
arriving.

On September 7, 2007 we landed in
Frankfurt,
the main hub of Europe to start new life of nomad.
Our house in
Randolph, with which we fell in love in December 1990 and then lived
for almost 17 years, was sold almost on the peak of the real-estate
bubble just week ago. I predicted that that bubble was destined to
burst and burst it did!

We sold what we could sell from our
belonging but mostly we gave our thing away. Several minivan loads I
brought to the Salvation Army shop in Denville. Our 3 story house
(including basement) was swept clean by ad on www.craiglists.com,
which was marked FREE, that magic word people like the most even if
they cannot explain the concept of freedom.

But the most
traumatic was parting with our books, more than 5 thousand volumes;
in English, Japanese and Russian; the result of the life long book
hunting.

All our life we thought that they belong to us and it
took years of rationalization that we took it upside down. Things do
not belong to us, it is US go belong to things. And once the spell
was broken, we are FREE at the long last.

just before the
burst of the bubble, we closed the sale of our house in New Jersey
and took flight from Newark to We are at Frankfurt
Airport finally to pickup our rented car, ready to start life o
fhomeless nomads.

At that time our final target was Turkey as
the cradle of the so called 'Western Civilization' and I will explain
later why I call it "so called".

So, we had rented a
nice car from EuropeCar rental company to see as much of the Europe
on our way to Constantinople a.k.a Istanbul.
